Princess Niobe Cottonhead the Snow Tigress of Siam

Niobe (July 10, 2006-March 12, 2007)

The most gorgeous cat I have ever seen has passed away. After seizures over the weekend we had her put to sleep.

 

 

 

Niobe, I hope you have found your hot pink powder puff again. I hope you have lots of noses to lick and laps to sit on. I hope no one is running around behind you trying to clean the poo off your butt. I hope that you don't have to be near any vacuums ever again, or be taken on any car trips anymore. I hope you find a new best friend.

Thank you Niobe for helping me to get better to go back to work. You took good care of me while I was healing and you were a good nurse to me while I had the flu over Christmas.

We're really going to miss you, especially Jack. He's walking around the house looking for you and meowing for you.

What I've learned since I started blogging:

1. Don't give your blog address to your husband's friends without telling/asking husband first
2. The visitors don't just start pouring in as soon as you create your blog
3. You should respond to your commenters on your blog
4. A lot of people have much better and wittier blogs than I do
5. It's not easy to write every day
6. The next blog I start I won't tell husband's friends about
7. Don't give out blog address to everyone I know in hopes of boosting readership--it seriously makes me self-edit too much, and I'm not convinced it affected the readership either--maybe only on the first day I sent the email

What I still need to figure out:

1. How to be more clever and entertaining on my blog
2. How to get more people to read my blog
3. How to get more commenters on my blog
4. How to format the damn pictures better
5. How to make it up to husband for telling his friends about my blog without checking with him first
6. What are trackbacks?
7. Am I enough of a blogger to go to Tequilacon yet?
8. What's the etiquette on advertising on your blog?  Is it considered guache?

I'm a klutz

I was just outside watering the yard, and I was trying to adjust the sprinkler, and it was about to swing back and get me all wet, so I tried to back up quickly while still crouching. I tripped on either the hose or the lounger chair right behind me (or both) and landed  hard on the concrete patio.  My hands and knee got scraped and my wrists and elbow hurt.

When I started going to acupuncture a few weeks ago, she asked me how many injuries I had in the past. "In my life?!" I asked. Yes, she wanted to know... gosh, I don't know how many times I've broken or sprained wrists, fingers, toes, ankles in my life!  I always panic a bit that they think I am being beaten. But no, I'm just a klutz!

Don't even ask how many times I've gone through the sliding screen door!

I sure hope I didn't seriously hurt something again. It's embarrassing.
